The Greek wine and spirits company headquartered in Kantza near Athens in the region Attica was founded in 1869 by Andreas Cambas (born 1851). Soon the name Cambas became synonymous with quality brandies and later wines. The first customer was the military hospital in Athens. This led to the idea of the company's original company logo, the Red Cross. This was maintained until 1919, when the symbol was registered as an international logo of the Red Cross, and then changed to today's shamrock. The winery has been owned by a member of the family since 1991 Boutari, Among other things, the varieties Agiorgitiko, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Moschophilero, Roditis and Savatiano are grown. There are wineries in Mantinia (Peloponnese) and Kantza (Attica) where a wide range of wines, as well as sparkling wine, spirits, Retsina and ouzo is produced. Well-known wines are Korinthia (Agiorgitiko, Cabernet Sauvignon) from the Peloponnese, the OPAP Mantinia (Moschophilero) and Cabernet Sauvignon from Attica.
