1999 P.D.O. Mavrodafni Patron (O.P.E.) / Μαυροδάφνη Πατρών süß Mavrodaphne Resèrve, Peloponnese / Πελοπóννησος, Greece

Fairly intense nose, dried figs, sultanas, candied Mediterranean fruit, clear with herbs and spices, caramel, thyme honey and some mushrooms. Straightforward style, almost cool in spite of the sweetness and prominent alcohol, delicate hint of coffee, light spicy traces, sweet, dried yellow fruit, bitter orange zests and dried figs, slightly tart herbaceous notes in the background, touch of bread, low acid and tannins, but perfectly balanced, mineral notes, has structure and character, persistent, good long finish.
