2000 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Partly dried plums and mixed berries on the nose, herbaceous and light mineral notes. Quite juicy on the palate, sweetish, extremely ripe fruit, more dried fruit, elegant acidity, very creamy with noticeable alcohol, integrated, only very slightly astringent tannins, rum punch, alcoholic finish.

Editor note: Mature, not quite clean nose with animal notes, raisins, plum preserves and delicate herbal notes. Spicy oak, dry pine needles, light alcoholic burn on the palate, just a little berry fruit, slightly dusty and astringent tannins, slightly sweetish fruity, quite good finish. Time will tell whether the alcohol becomes integrated or not.
