2012 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Astringent, cedar, smoky and undergrowth, also slightly animalistic, with a predominantly black berry fragrance with tobacco and earthy notes. Ripe, quite juicy, smoothed fruit with a fine bite and harmonious tannin, persistent on the palate, some liquorice, straightforward style, not eternally deep, a hint of rum pot in the background, appears cooler than the very high alcohol lets expect, floral and herbal nuances, a hint of salt, very good, quite tight finish.
