The wine cooperative is located in the municipality of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the German wine-growing region Ahr, The traditional association was founded in 1874. The managing director and cellar master is Dipl. Ing. Edgar Bertram, wine manager Lukas Schmitz works as field manager and wine technician Florian Schreier is responsible for the cellar technology. Stephan Esser is responsible for sales. The vineyards of the 76 members comprise a total of around 27 hectares of vineyards, including in the individual vineyards Daubhaus and Rosenthal (Ahrweiler). 85% of the red varieties Pinot Noir, Early Burgundy, Portuguese, Dornfelder and Regent, as well as 15% white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Müller-Thurgau are grown and processed. Depending on the type, the wines are aged in steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and brandies (yeast, pomace, wine, fruit) are also produced.
