The DO area named after two cities is located in the south of the province of Cordoba in the southern Spanish region Andalusia, The vineyards cover around 10,000 hectares of vineyards and are located at 300 to 700 meters above sea level. By 1933 the majority of the wines were in the western part Jerez delivered and from there the sherry produced (then no longer allowed).
