2016 Leithaberg DAC Ried Altenberg Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, cool, deep, fairly elegant nose, cherries and predominantly black berries, some pomegranate, hint of mint and tobacco, whiff of citrus, mineral notes in the background. Firm, juicy, cool fruit on the palate, light nutty oak, hint of tobacco, some cocoa, elegant acid bite, firm, almost silky tannins, persistent, deep and concentrated, very elegant herbs and spices, hint of citrus zests, peppery spice, hint of coffee, mineral notes in the background, still young, complex, very good long finish.
