2015 Dogliani DOCG Superiore Maioli, Piedmont, Italy

Tart, slightly earthy and vegetal scent of black berries and a little sour cherries. Clear, ripe dark fruit with nutty and slightly bitter chocolate tones, fine sandy, ripe tannins, some bite, spicy and herbaceous notes, lots of strength, good persistence, a hint of bacon in the background, a little warmth, but also cooling notes, very good, juicy and spicy finish.
