2012 Rosso del Veronese IGT Theobroma, Veneto, Italy

Slightly open, somewhat chocolaty and spicy aroma of predominantly dried and pickled black fruits with candy notes, dark caramel, dried herbs, tobacco, undergrowth and liquorice. Firm and powerful in the mouth, dried-looking black fruit with smoky, toasty and also slightly sooty wood, present tannin, some bite, noticeable alcohol, good substance and persistence, bacony, earthy and underwoody tones, peppery spice, also salty mineral tones in the background, a little coffee grounds, dried-vegetable flavours, rather rustic style, very good finish
