2004 Dão DOC Private Selction, Beiras, Portugal

Slightly oxidative, tart nose with sour cherries, plums and mixed berries, spicy roasted oak. Lots of oak again on the palate, roasted and light smoky notes, behind this some tart fruit, again slightly oxidative, astringent oak tannins, medium-bodied, noticeable alcohol, not particularly deep, more astringent oak on an otherwise attractive finish.
