2003 Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Tuscany, Italy

Slightly jammy red berries and some plums on the nose, somedried oranges and sweetish spicy notes, light smoky and mineral traces, light spicy oak. Quite juicy and full-bodied on the palate, ripe fruit, quite firm, oaky, malted notes, hint of spicy cloves, light acid bite, failry prominent and very fine tannins, very slightly astringent, good persistence, good finish. Has shown a surpisingly good development.

Editor note: Appealing, slightly jammy nose, ripe cherries, red and black beries, unfortunately accompanied by a whiff of sauerkraut, some orange zest and wilted flowers. Very clearly defined fruit, still slightly sandy tannins, full-bodied, juicy, more light floral notes, slightly astringent, good finish.
