2011 Süd-Steiermark Ried Hochgrassnitzberg Chardonnay trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Nose still yeasty, light lactic and volatile notes, light spicy oak, elegant vegetal notes with broccoli, pepper, restrained ripe citrus fruit, floral traces, hint of bacon, prominent mineral notes. Ripe, creamy fruit on the palate, has both warm and cold elements, candied nuts, some smoky oak, elegant acidity, light tannic grip, full-bodied, fairly concentrated and persistent, some sugar candy and brown butter in the background, light lactic and volatile notes, hint of tobacco, some caramel, has backbone, mineral notes in the background, still young, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, very good tart, juicy, spicy, grippy finish.

Editor note: Translate to English Fester, getrocknet-pflanzlicher und -floraler Duft nach Zitrusfrüchten und etwas Kernobst mit grün-vegetabilen Noten und deutlich erdiger Mineralik. Kräftig im Mund, reife, teils angetrocknet wirkende Frucht mit getrocknet-pflanzlichen, erdigen und tabakigen Noten, auch etwas Rauch, teils grünes Holz und ein Hauch Bitterschokolade am Gaumen, lebendige Säure und recht straffer Gerbstoff, nachhaltig am Gaumen, spürbarer Alkohol, gewisse Tiefe, florale Spuren im Hintergrund, angedeutet Asche, sehr guter, recht saftiger und pflanzlich-würziger Abgang mit nussigen Aromen, Alkohol, Jod und viel Griff.
