2006 Istenhegy halbtrocken Tokaji Furmint, Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary

Dried yellow fruit and carob on the nose, burnt notes reminiscent of matches and flintstone, light touch of incense. Some burnt notes again on the palate, licorice and carob, some dried and slightly bitter herbs, partly dried and partly preserved fruit, only very slightly sweet, fairly soft mouthfeel, very mdoerate acidity, delicate spice on an attractive to good finish.

Editor note: Tart dried vegetal notes on the nose, partly dried citrus fruit and flowers, some carob and incense. Clear, polished, delicately sweetish and creamy fruit on the palate, extremely elegant acidity, good persistence, delicate spice, mineral notes, some more carob, light yeasty notes, has some depth, quite compact, very good finish. We obviously totally underestimated this wine in its youth.
