2001 Langhe DOC Montalupa, Piedmont, Italy

Unusual spicy nose, sage, pepper and eucalyptus, with notes of red and black berries, some light floral and mineral notes. Smoky notes and smoked meat, prominent oak, some sandy, astringent tannins, cherry and berry fruit, quite persistent on the palate, good finish.
