2003 Barolo DOCG Sorano, Piedmont, Italy

Prominent mineral notes on the nose, smoky with a touch of dried herbs and spices, red as well as some black berries, plums, Havana tobacco and a hint of cedar wood. Very firm on the palate, lots of ripe, very slightly jammy fruit, delicate roasted notes and sweetish herbs and spices, noticeable oak, vanilla, quite fine, but also fairly prominent and slightly astringent tannins, more tobacco, very full-bodied, long finish. Give it time to mature.
