2013 Barolo DOCG Ascheri, Piedmont, Italy

Firm nose, dried flowers and a hint of tobacco,light peppery spice and undergrowth, partly dried red and a few black berries, hint of plums, licorice, earthy and smoky notes. Firm, tart, juicy, fairly dark fruit on the palate, light nutty oak, full-bodied and persistent, ripe tannins provide firm grip, light hint of bacon, some more peppery spice, firm structure. good depth, some licorice and dried flowers in the background, hint of sugar candy, very good firm, juicy, spicy finish.
