2013 Barolo DOCG Sorano, Piedmont, Italy

Touch of smoked bacon on the nose, nutty notes and some tobacco, red and black berries, some undergrowth, earthy and mineral notes. Fairly tart dark fruit on the palate, toasted oak, fairly prominent sandy tannins, good substance and persistence, more smoky and sooty traces, hint of bacon, some bitter cocoa notes, still slightly brittle, very good tart finish.
