2005 Barbera d'Alba DOC Vigna Lisi, Piedmont, Italy

Mature nose, preserved plums and berries, undergrowth and cedar. Light cedary notes again on the palate, some old oak and light nutty notes, partly dried and partly preserved berry fruit with plummy notes, light herbaceous notes, crisp style, slightly astringent but also partly mature tannins, has some backbone, fairly lively, has some substance, slightly astringent on a good to very good finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2012+. What our ratings mean
