The winery is located in the heart of the municipality of Montepulciano (province of Siena) in the Italian region Tuscany, The property is located in the 16th-century Palazzo Avignonesi, with sprawling 13th-century cellar vaults. The former family estate was acquired in 2009 by Belgian-born retired lawyer Virginie Saverys. The vineyards cover 140 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities Montepulciano (5 locations) and Cortona (2 locations). They are planted with the white varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Trebbiano and Malvasia, and with the red varieties Sangiovese, Prugnolo Gentile, Ciliegiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

In 2011 was Organic viticulture with partly too biodynamic Methods introduced. Among other things, it is based on chemical pesticides and dispensed fertilizer.
