2006 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Firm, fairly deep and complex nose, preserved mixed berries and cherries, herbaceous notes with dried thyma and majoram, very delicate hint of oak, spicy and mineral notes, hint of licorice in the background. Full-bodied, juicy and concentrated on the palate, concentrated, partly preserved, partly dried fruit, touch of dark chocolate, fine, youthful tannins, firm, powerful and persistent, slightly warm alcohol, but also has cool elements, polished, becomes more juica and gains depth with aeration, very good long finish.
