2003 Colli Maceratesi DOC Beato Masseo, Marches, Italy

Cassis and some sour cherries on the nose, fairly cool style with light smoky notes. Juicy and at the same time fairly cool fruit, strongly present tannins, slightly astringent, integrated oak with smoky and light roasted notes, firmly structured and quite concentrated, some cedar wood, also some mineral notes, mint in the background, fairly austere, perhaps still closed and needs time to open up, good finish.
