2004 Barbera d'Alba DOC Zio Nando, Piedmont, Italy

Warm nose, preserved berries and cherries, liqueur notes, goes well with delicately spicy oak. Some tart cherry fruit in the mouth, still rather closed and one-dimensional, oak detracts somewhat from the fruit and from the potential overall harmony, dusty, astringent tannins, components have not yet come together, attractive finish. Needs time to mature.
