2003 Barbera d'Asti DOC Barbera Superiore, Piedmont, Italy

Clear nose, slightly tart, partly dried cherries, red and black berries, herbs and spices, light oxidative touch. Clear and quite juicy on the palate, lively fruit with a light acid bite, some more delicate oxidative notes, spicy notes and mineral traces, fairly prominent tannins, fairly complex and quite full-bodied, has some depth, good to very good finish. Currently in excellent shape.

Editor note: Tart, partly dried red berries and tart cherries on the nose, light oxidative notes and oak. Fairly mature on the palate, fairly restrianed fruit, oak with firm, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, herbaceous notes in the background, some acidity, very good persistence and depth, quite complex with mineral notes, quite a traditional style, slightly astringent on a good finish.
