2005 Grignolino d'Asti DOC Trinchero, Piedmont, Italy

Partly dried red berries and cassis on the nose, spicy earthy notes, some undergrowth, dried flowers. Clear, ripe fruit on the palate, elegant undergrowth, spicy earthy notes, some more traces of dried flowers, mature, very fine tannins with good grip, fairly creamy, persistent and refreshing, good to very good finish. Has shown an excellent development, much more enjoyable to drink now than in its youth.
