2016 Barbaresco DOCG "Ovello", Piedmont, Italy

Earthy, dried-vegetal and a hint of meaty scent of more red than black berries with tobacco and hint of woody notes, tobacco, soy sauce, pepper and a hint of black olives. Ripe, fairly firm, partly preserved fruit, relatively dark wood, somewhat tobacco and a hint of roasted on the palate, fine, youthful and still slightly drying tannins, good substance and sustainability, has strength and a certain warmth, a hint of candy and dark caramel in the background, spicy and floral nuances, very good, warm, slightly compote finish.
