2015 Monferrato DOC Gavius, Piedmont, Italy

Somewhat earthy, dried vegetal and undergrowth scent with slightly muted notes of red and black berries. Tart fruit with peppery notes and dried vegetable and earthy notes, some old wood and tobacco on the palate, some persistence, matching tannin and fine acid bite, a touch of juniper and laurel, good to very good finish.
