2013 Barolo DOCG Gabutti, Piedmont, Italy

Slightly herbaceous and spicy on the nose, partly preserved red and some black berries, with bacon nuances, some licorice, tar and earthy or mineral notes. Firmly kneaded, juicy red and black fruit with light roasted notes, quite prominent, but predominantly mature tannins, elegant acid bite, sugar candy, dark caramel and a little cocoa on the palate, again licorice, good substance and persistence, a touch of malt in the background, some sage, good to very good, again a little bit bitter-roasted finish.
