2006 Barbera d'Alba DOC, Piedmont, Italy

Fairly smooth nose, preserved mixed berries, cherries and plums, some candied nuts, spicy oak. Firm and fairly tart fruit on the palate, some oak, vegetal notes, slightly astringent tannins, full-bodied, fairly polished, tart again on the finish with slightly sandy, astringent tannins and some vegetal notes. Still needs time to develop.
