2002 Verduzzo Friulano Borc Dodòn, Friuli/Venezia-Giulia, Italy

Rather dull orange to copper colour. Oxidative, nutty nose, spicy oak, dried and candied stone and pomaceous fruit, vannila and sweetish spice. Full-bodied and firm on the palate, juicy, oxidative fruit, partly candied and dried, fairly prominent tannins, light acid bite, herbaceous notes, persistent, yeasty notes, slightly brittle, has substance and noticeable alcohol, white chocolate, almonds and other nuts in the background, very good finish. Very unusual, probably intolerable for many wine lovers, but also very good in its own way.
