2016 Barbera d'Asti DOCG Superiore Assolo, Piedmont, Italy

Firm, youthful nose, cherries and mixed berries, peppery and herbaceous traces, partly dried floral as well as very light volatile notes. Straightforward, fairly juicy fruit on the palate, light oak with a hint of chocolate, fine tannins, moderate acid bite, hint of citrus fruit, peppery traces, very light hint of tobacco, noticeable high alcohol, but also has cool elements, not particularly deep, good finish.
