2016 Barbera d'Asti DOCG Superiore "Collina del Prete", Piedmont, Italy

Somewhat nutty and tobaccoy-woody spicy scent of predominantly dark berries with cedar, dried plant and earthy notes. Powerful in the mouth, ripe dark fruit with a slightly bitter, again tobacco wood, cocoa notes and coffee grounds on the palate, a little smoke, salty tones, present, somewhat drying tannin, much power, noticeable but integrated alcohol, slightly rustic type, good to very good finish

Editor note: Clear noser, cherries and dark berries, delicate floral and peppery notes, hint of tobacco. Ripe, fairly firm, juicy fruit on the palate, lively acidity, fine, youthful tannins, persistent, has some bite, licht citrus fruit in the background, hint of herbs and peppery traces, nutty traces, creamy with noticeable wearm alcohol, more herbaceous traces on a good, fairly juicy, slightly spicy finish.
