2005 Freisa d'Asti DOC Bugianen, Piedmont, Italy

Mature nose, light cedar and old oak, preserved plums and berries. Cool, firm, delicately juicy preserved berry fruit on the palate, preserved and dried plums, persistent and has substance, good contours, fairly prominent, astringent tannins, mature but by no means at its end, good to very good finish. We underestimated the substance, persistence and maturation potential of this wine, which now shows its strengths.
