2003 Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Tuscany, Italy

Very overripe style, bread and malt on the nose, dried tomatoes and some rum punch. Overripe on the palate, too, a touch of sharp mixed-pickles notes, slightly dusty tannins, noticeable alcohol, dried dark fruit, roasted aromas, very full-bodied, sharp finish. Deteriorates with aeration, becoming more sharp and vegetal.
