2013 Barbaresco DOCG Riserva "Canova Serie Oro", Piedmont, Italy

Clear, slightly nutty, delicately leathery and undergrowthy aroma of red and a little black berries with tobacco aromas, wilt-floral hints and earthy-mineral tones. Ripe, tart, quite tightly knit fruit with tobacco and nutty wood aromas, some cardamom and cocoa, fine sandy, present, still a touch drying tannin, dried-vegetable notes, somewhat spicy, some substance and persistence, coffee-roasted flavours, very good, somewhat drying finish.
