1999 Barbaresco DOCG Riserva, Piedmont, Italy

Iodine, mushroom and bacon aroma with parsley notes, nut aromas, tar, pepper and partly dried mixed berries that seem fresher with air. Tart, ripe, rather dark fruit in the mouth, increasingly juicy, tarry, woody and tobacco notes, some toastiness, a hint of liquorice and iodine, a hint of pepper, has power and warmth, good persistence, a hint of tyre gum, very good finish with cocoa notes and a little coffee grounds
