The winery is located about two kilometres from the municipality of Cossignano (province of Ascoli Piceno) in the Italian region of Marche. The ancient 19th century farmhouse is the centre of the extensive organic estate of vineyards and olive groves. Wine tastings and various guided tours (tour of the vineyards and olive groves and wine cellar) are offered. The vineyards are located at an altitude of up to 300 metres above sea level and cover nine hectares of vineyards. The white wine varieties Pecorino and Passerina, as well as the red wine varieties Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Syrah are cultivated. The vineyards are cultivated according to the rules of organic viticulture. The vineyards are fertilised with legumes and are covered with vegetation all year round. The grape harvest is principally done by hand, whereby the grapes are gently collected in small crates and transported to the cellar for processing.
In the wine cellar, which is partly underground and technologically state-of-the-art, the organic wines certified according to CCPB rules (Inspection and Certification Body for Organic and Environmentally Friendly Products) are produced. Depending on the type of wine, the wines ferment in stainless steel tanks with or without temperature control. For certain wines, spontaneous fermentation takes place with the vineyard's or winery's own yeasts. For some, the grapes are foot-stomped in a 500-litre amphora. For the Row wines, maceration is done with repeated gentle over-pumping (délestage). The wines are aged in various wooden barrels (for example French barriques, tonneaux). The product range includes DOC Rosso Piceno, DOCG Offida Pecorino and various IGT wines. The premium wines are Ser Balduzio, Giulia Erminia and Gallo Otto. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines Pétillant Naturel with lees ageing (sur lie) are also produced.
