2013 Puglia IGT Nero di Troia "Il Sale della Terra", Apulia, Italy

Slightly spicy wood, a hint of cedar red and black berries with earthy notes, dried herbs, spicy notes and tobacco. Ripe fruit with tobacco, spicy, earthy and clearly nutty notes, slightly sandy and astringent tannins, roasted notes, fairly persistent, good to very good finish. Again significantly better than the apparently impaired sample a few weeks ago.

Editor note: Developed, nutty and slightly woody scent of dried mixed berries with notes of soup herbs, iodine and some woody spice. Tart, developed fruit with noticeable, nutty spicy oak, some liquorice, iodine and dried.-Floral tones, more rustic style, sandy tannins, warming alcohol, not much depth, neat, slightly brittle finish. Unfortunately matured very quickly.
