2003 Castel del Monte DOC Riserva "Vigna Pedale", Apulia, Italy

Restrained, muted nose with light mineral notes, dried berries and some malva. Fairly uncomplicated style, slightly tart, dried berry notes, quite firm, touch of sweet extract in the background, integrated, mature tannins, hidden substance, but harmonious and pleasant to drink, slightly astringent on an otherwise attractive finish.
