2011 Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore bärbaCESCO®, Piedmont, Italy

Woody, slightly roasted, also nutty nose, partly preserved dark berries and cherries with dry herbaceous notes and spicy aromas, as well as earthy and slightly grainy notes. Ripe, partly preserved fruit on the palate, smoky-roasted spicy oak, spicy on the palate, mature, fine-sandy tannins, dried vegetal and earthy notes, full-bodied and warm alcohol, good persistence, hint of tobacco, some pepper and salt, good to very good, slightly dry finish.
