2004 Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore Vigna Vecchia Groppone, Piedmont, Italy

Berries and some apples on the nose, light animal notes, slightly burnt notes and some old oak. Straightforward style, delicately juicy red berry fruit on the palate, shows its origins as well as varietal character, prominent acid bite, integrated tannins, crisp and has some substance, slightly brittle on an attractive to good finish.
