The winery is located in the municipality of Neumarkt (Egna) in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol ( Trentino-Alto Adige region). The manor house was built in the 17th century and received its current appearance in the second quarter of the 18th century. Around 1770, the Baron Longo family acquired the palace and incorporated it, together with the Villner Schlössl in the middle of the vineyards (see below), into the family's wine estate. There was an own wine school as well as open wine sales in the own Gassenschänke in Klagenfurt. The Palais Longo is home to the estate's historic wine cellar, most of which, however, was redesigned in 2015. Last owned by WG Neumarkt (now Kellerei Tramin), the estate was finally taken over by Baron Anton von Longo Liebenstein from his father Felix in 2015.
The vineyards cover 20 hectares and are planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer,Sauvignon, Solaris and Pinot Gris, as well as the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Lagrein. The vineyards are cultivated according to the rules of organic viticulture; certified by ABICert since 2020. This includes the renunciation of irrigation, reduced fertilisation (only for young plants) and the sowing of plants. Horses, sheep and chickens are kept in the vineyards. Yields are reduced by thinning.
The product range includes wines with the designations Felix Anton Terroir Linie (ageing in stainless steel) and Nobilis Linie (from single vineyards with ageing in wood and bottling without filtration). They are marketed as DOC South Tyrol and in different varieties as IGT Vigneti delle Dolomiti. In principle, spontaneous fermentation takes place with the vineyard's own yeasts. The red wines are matured in barriques, the white wines in 500 to 2,500 litre containers. The estate's premium wines include the white wine cuvée Liebenstein (Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay) and the red wine Wellenburg (Cabernet Sauvignon). The winery is a member of the associations FIVI (Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti) and Freie Weinbauern Südtirol.
