2011 Barolo DOCG Briccolina, Piedmont, Italy

Nutty, earthy and a little reminiscent of tree bark aroma of red and also some black berries with cedary notes, dried flowers, foliage and mushrooms. Ripe, quite juicy fruit, clearly nutty aromas, some candy and cedary-woody tones, fine sandy, predominantly crumbly tannins, good persistence, warm style, a little peppery, also hints of mineral, a touch of cocoa, firm structure, certain depth, tobacco nuances, quite complex, very slightly compote in the very good finish
