2016 Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG Ruché, Piedmont, Italy

Floral and slightly bacony nose with red and black berry notes, spicy tones and some root vegetables as well as meaty-animalic traces. Partly preserved fruit with toasty wood flavours, bitter chocolate and a little coffee, earthy tones, mushrooms and root vegetables in the background, slightly brittle tannin, a little rustic, noticeable alcohol, not very deep, decent finish with animal traces.
