2003 Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore Le Masche, Piedmont, Italy

Editor note: New oak on the nose, some lovage and eucalyptus, behind this aromas of red berries and dried herbs. Polished red berry fruit in the mouth, both maturity and alcohol noticeable, still appears closed, oak also not yet fully integrated, a wine that is still developing, good characteristics and potential, quite deep, needs time, powerful ripe tannins are still a little dusty and blunt, attractive to good finish.
