The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The "Bioweingut Lieselehof" is located in the municipality of Kaltern (province of Bolzano) in the Italian wine-growing region South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). The name Lieselehof comes from the great-grandparents Franz Morandell (* 1835) and Elisabeth ("the Liesele") of the present owner Werner Morandell. His father Gottlieb-Amadeus also dealt with the grafting of young vines and the production of root vines for nurseries, The company is a contracting party of the State Viticultural Institute Freiburg in the Breisgau, for the various newly bred PIWI varietals be tried. But there are also traditional varieties like Vernatsch ( schiava ), Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer in organic farming.

Werner Morandell is also the author of the book "My Vines", in which the Lieselehof and its notable vine museum "Museo delle Viti" are presented with around 340 different grape varieties from all over the world. Among these are many varieties from the usual wine-growing countries as well as some Afghanistan. Egypt. Albania. Azerbaijan. China. Iran. Kyrgyzstan. Lebanon. Russia. South Africa. Tajikistan. Czech Republic. turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, As a special specialty, one white and one red "hundred-varietal wine Vino del Museo" are made from one hundred grape varieties each.

The vineyards are located in the communities of Kaltern and Tramin, an experimental vineyard on the Mendel Pass. Apart from the museum varieties are planted with the red varieties Vernatsch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carmenère, as well as with the white varieties Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Bronner, Souvignier Gris and Solaris. The management is done since the early 1990s, according to the rules of Organic (organic) viticulture with as little use of chemical pesticides, The farm is certified organic (South Tyrol, controlled by BIKO Tirol), but not a member of an organic association. It will be almost exclusive Organic wines produced.

Special features of the product range are the Trockenbeerenauslese "Sweet Claire" Bronner with ~ 350 grams of residual sugar, the "Vino del Passo" originating at 1,300 meters above sea level Solaris with 500 gram stock yield, the DOC red wine Kalterersee "Amadeus" from Vernatsch as well as the red wine cuvée "Maximilian" from Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carmenère, which is aged for 24 months in barriques and aged for a year before being marketed in the bottle. The winery is a member of the two winegrower associations Free winegrowers South Tyrol and PIWI South Tyrol.
