The estate is located in the commune of Rüdesheim-Eibingen in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, The origins go back to the 11th century. The monastery cellar dates from 1683. It was created in the 1980s from the former parish of Rüdesheim. Finally, a GmbH was founded in 2009, which is 100% owned by the Diocese of Limburg. Silke Trick has been managing director since 2011, and Peter Perabo has been responsible for operations and cellar master since 2007. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Schlossberg mountain. Mount Roseneck. Mount Rottland, Bischofsberg, Magdalenenkreuz and Klosterlay (Rüdesheim), as well hell ( Johannisberg ). They are 80% Riesling, the rest are planted with Pinot Noir.

The vineyards are managed in a natural way Pest control. Quality criteria in the vineyard are yield reduction and selective hand picking. Partly with spontaneous fermentation worked. The Riesling is also aged in the traditional large wooden barrel. The red wines are after maceration and expansion without filtration bottled. The premium wines include Riesling Berg "Episcopus" and Riesling Roseneck "Alte Reben". Around 50,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Marc (pomace brandy) from Pinot Noir is also produced.
