2002 D.O. Jumilla Monastrell-Merlot Divus, Murcia, Spain

Deep, almost opaque red. Leather and ripe dark berries on the nose, some red fruit marinated in alcohol, smoky herbal notes, green tea. Sour cherry preserves and red berries, quite complex in the mouth, pipe tobacco and some vanilla, quite firm structure on the palate, very ripe tannins and appealing acidic interplay, good finish supported by mineral notes. May still improve with time.
