2003 D.O. Yecla Castaño Merlot, Murcia, Spain

Matt garnet. Very shy nose, some blueberries and dried berries, a hint of smoke. Dark, dried berries on the palate, dark berry purée, slight earthy touch, some coconut, slightly sweetish oak, fine, polished, appropriate tannins, very slight bitter touch on a good finish. Very modern, and very well made.
