2003 D.O. Rueda Sauvignon Blanc Palacio de Menade, Castilla y León, Spain

Yellow-straw, green tinges. Gooseberries, ripe blackcurrant and fresh herbs on the nose. Cassis and red berries, slightly artificial boiled-sweets character, quite clean fruit, fairly long finish. A sample was rated lower in 2004, it appears the packaging and cork quality may lead to bottle variations.
