1996 D.O.Ca Rioja Reserva Gaudium, La Rioja, Spain

Matt deep garnet to cherry. Intense nose of black berries, some cherries and a hint of citrus fruit, intense mineral notes, well integrated oak, some aromas of wilted flowers. Very clean, tremendously juicy fruit, firmly structured, with lots of very classy tannins, cool, deep and concentrated, great persistence on the palate, perfect balance, still very youthful, aristocratic structure, enormously long finish. Great stuff!
